The Top 3 Gadgets I Want

  1. iMac 20-inch 2.66 GHz
  2. iMac 20"

    iMac 20-inch

Yes, I am part of the Apple cult. I love Macs. For me, they are one of the most reliable computers around. I’m saying this based from experience. I’ve had my 13-inch PowerBook G4 for almost 5 years now. It’s still working and surprisingly, its features can still compete with the jam-packed features offered by the latest laptop models. Aside from that, I have only brought this once to the service center. Talk about reliability. *pats Macmac*. (ye, I named my laptop. :-P )

Though I love my so ever reliable laptop, I feel that its time for me to upgrade to a new one.  I was thinking of getting myself a cheaper but feature-packed desktop computer, however, I just can’t resist Macs allure. The 20-inch iMac is currently at the top of my gadgets to buy list. With all the expenses piling up, I’m wondering when I would be able to afford it. But I MUST be able to get it this year.  Price tag: 70,000 php

  3. Canon Powershot D10
  4. Canon D10

    Canon PowerShot D10

I have always wanted a camera to take to the beach, to take photos under water. Canon has probably answered my wishes. This little thing looks so sturdy and aquatic. It would be nice to have a camera that I won’t worry about breaking if I dropped it or if it gets wet. The question is if I can afford it. I haven’t really started to check out the price for this one.  I believe they are still a little expensive as it has just been released just a few months ago. Price tag: 26,000 php

  5. Nokia E75
  6. E75 Nokia

    E75 Nokia

Ever since I saw Blair’s phone in the first season of Gossip Girl, I’ve been wanting and looking for a cellphone with a slide-down qwerty keyboards. I never really found anything I like until I saw Nokia’s E75 model. Price tag: 26,000 php.

Ahh, the price to pay to get these shiny playthings. I’m saving, I’m saving! Hopefully, I’ll be able to afford at least ONE of these 3 by the end of the year. *Sighing and staring at my bank account*

Casual Look

The Casual Look :-P

The Casual Look :-P

Wore this one during our Mothers’ day dinner. It’s a casual look with a twist. Well, I like to think so. :-P These boots are currently my favorite. Not sure if the picture does it any justice. It’s again a product of my impulsive buying. I was just window shopping at The Ramp when I saw these shoes. Obviously, I bought it right there. I really like it cause it’s versatile. I could wear it with a dress and get the Gossip Girl look. I’ll post that outfit some other time.

The bag, on the other hand, didn’t came from impulsive buying. My mom bought it at H&M LA when she visited LA last April. (Yeah, the Philippines is still H&M deprived). She was actually thinking of selling it but like I would let her. She’s got two daughters! Anything she brought back home got through us first. And that bag is really nice to just let it go. The huge cardigan I’m wearing is another one she bought from LA. It’s actually too big for me, but it looks nice anyway.

Happy Mother’s Day!

‘Tis the season to celebrate mothers everywhere. Happy Mothers’ Day! :)

Happy Mothers' Day! (grandma, moi, carol, mom)

As always, any special occasion is a perfect excuse to go and dine out. Since it’s mother’s day, my mom also took it as a perfect excuse to have me treat her and the whole family for dinner. Well, it wasn’t that forced. Haha. I did owe my family a long over due treat. They say it’s part of the Filipino culture to treat your family on your first pay day. Well, I got my first pay a year ago. Thus, the long over due treat.

My family loves dining out. Our favorite restaurant destinations usually serves either Filipino, Italian, American, or Japanese cuisine. For this mother’s day celebration, we wanted something different for a change, probably try Korean or Thai cuisine. After looking through the web for recommended Korean or Thai restaurants, we ended up having our dinner at ‘Thai at Silk’ at Serendra, Taguig.

It’s a nice place. At first glance, the place won’t strike you as a Thai restaurant. It looks like the typical zen-ish place most asian restaurants have. Obviously, I’m not particularly good with describing places so the picture below should be able to help me. It’s taken from ‘Our Awesome Planet site‘ because I wasn’t able to take my own picture of the place.

I wasn’t able to take pictures of the food also. We were all hungry. It seems like the food vanished as soon as the servers placed it on our table. We ordered the following: Chicken Pandan, Phad Thai, Stir Fried Squid & Shrimp, Aromatic Beef Curry and Crab Rice. I loved the Stir Fried Squid & Shrimp and the Aromatic Beef Curry. Both were a little bit spicy, which I like. The food was definitely enough for 6 hungry people.

My family. Full from eating.

As for the service, it was okay. It was a busy night. The place was full so it’s understandable that the staff we’re all scurrying here and there. I have no complains though. All in all the ‘Thai at Silk’ experience was great. My mom loved the food. Yey! Of course, the rest of my family did too. They should, I paid for it. Haha. If I do crave for Thai food, I would definitely go back here.

The celebration did not end here though. We walked around Bonifacio High Street and met up with my grandmother, my uncle and his kids. There were lots of people that night, kids playing, dogs running around, photogs taking photos. The place was definitely lively for a Sunday night. After walking around, we ended up staying at Figaro, a local coffee shop. Think Starbucks with Italian ambiance. We ended the night talking, taking pictures and generally hanging out; family quality time.
