Casual Look

The Casual Look :-P

The Casual Look :-P

Wore this one during our Mothers’ day dinner. It’s a casual look with a twist. Well, I like to think so. :-P These boots are currently my favorite. Not sure if the picture does it any justice. It’s again a product of my impulsive buying. I was just window shopping at The Ramp when I saw these shoes. Obviously, I bought it right there. I really like it cause it’s versatile. I could wear it with a dress and get the Gossip Girl look. I’ll post that outfit some other time.

The bag, on the other hand, didn’t came from impulsive buying. My mom bought it at H&M LA when she visited LA last April. (Yeah, the Philippines is still H&M deprived). She was actually thinking of selling it but like I would let her. She’s got two daughters! Anything she brought back home got through us first. And that bag is really nice to just let it go. The huge cardigan I’m wearing is another one she bought from LA. It’s actually too big for me, but it looks nice anyway.

Rainy Summer Look

If you live in this tropical country named Philippines, you are likely used to the hot weather especially during the summer months spanning from March to May. However, the whole global warming phenomenon is completely changing the seasons. It’s not even the end of the dry season and the country is already experiencing rains and storms. Talk about weather change. I remember a few years back around this time of the year, I would still be complaining about how hot it was and how we need snow donation from those snow-covered countries. Beach bums could still go to the beach, hangout, swim and burn their skins to bronze without worrying about strong winds, currents or any impending storm.

Hello Rain

Hello Rain

Nevertheless, we could use a break from the sun once in a while. I for one could use an excuse to wear one of my jackets / coats. They were pushed at the back of the closet because summer and jackets don’t exactly mix.

The excuse came yesterday. Rain clouds covered Metro Manila leaving no trace of summer. As I dressed for work, I decided to wear my favorite silver gray trench coat. I’m particularly fond of this jacket because it’s the product of my impulsive buying. And yes, I wear trench coat in this country. It’s just a fancy jacket only longer. It made the typical office wear – blouse and slacks – a little bit special. The outfit’s a bit too dark though. The bright yellow bag gave the whole look color.

Bag Coat

Though I think I’m a bit dressed up. :-P Where I work, people are usually in smart casual attire. Walking around the office yesterday, made me feel over dressed. But what the hell. I love clothes, shoes, bags and shopping. It would be a waste if I don’t wear the clothes I bought.

Shhh!

Shhh!

Forgive the picture. Despite being into photography, I can’t take a decent picture of myself. Anyway, I’m just giving this “lookbook” a try. I stumbled upon lookbook.nu and got jealous. The outfit photos of the members of that site look so effortless, so spontaneous. But I’ll bet it still took them several tries to get that one perfect shot. I know I did and it’s not even perfect. The background doesn’t even suite the whole look. Oh well. Excuse the purple pink of a wall. That’s the color of my bedroom wall, that I chose when I was 14. Obviously I never bothered to redesign (repaint) my room. So shhh!
